The ILC has six large classroom areas, several smaller multi-use rooms, including group rooms for student use, and team spaces for the use of student teams.

  • Classrooms can be booked through the Event Services room reservation system.
  • The Atrium can be booked through the Student Services office (BMH 300).
  • Group rooms and the multimedia room (BMH 111) can be booked on the online group room booking system.

Group Rooms

Four active reservations in the system (max. 2 on any one day) and 3 hour maximum duration.

  • Undergraduate engineering students are allowed four active reservations at one time, but only two on any one day.
  • A single reservation may be up to 3 hours in duration
  • D!bs is mobile ready (including Apple products). Email and text reminders are now available.
  • The ILC has 38 group rooms for student use, seating between 2 and 10.
  • Rooms can only be booked by engineering undergraduates.
  • Booking is not required, but it guarantees a room.

  • Capacity: 80
  • Twelve workstations for CAD design projects and collaborative group work.
  • A/V resources available (projector, microphone).
  • Centre of the room is user configurable with movable tables

Teaching Studio
Room 213

  • Capacity: 90
  • Oval configuaration with 45 computers available for students.
  • A/V includes four 100" projector screens, an instructor's terminal, and a document camera. Also includes a microphone.

Plazas
Rooms 212, 214 & 314

  • Capacity:
    • Plaza 212: 21 benches
    • Plaza 214: 21 benches
    • Plaza 314: 27 benches

Active Learning Centre
Room 313a & 313b

  • Capacity:
    • Side A: 50
    • Side B: 30
    • Both Sides: 80
  • The room can be split into two with a divider, or used as one large room.
  • Flexible space with moveable tables and chairs, whiteboards.
  • A data projector (HDMI & Mac connectors) is installed in the room. The lectern hosts the wireless video system to use the projector (BMH 300).

Non-classroom spaces

These spaces are bookable through the Student Services office.

First Year Studio
Room 315

This is a room for shared use by first-year activities such as project work and tutorials.

Atrium

Large open area, good for public speakers, social gatherings, end of term displays and competitions.

Facility fees for non-academic use

Fees may apply for the use of the ILC equipment and services for purposes other than undergraduate teaching. A reservation surcharge will be levied when ILC staff receive special request group room reservations (e.g., for events, conferences). See Online Store - group room reservation for details.
