This year’s recipient of the Collaboration Award received our highest number of individual nominations across more than 8 different academic units in our 5 year history. Being recognized for her exceptional commitment to knowledge-sharing, cross-departmental support, and team development, this year’s recipient was described as a “Guiding Light” for others and is considered to be highly valued for her competence, professionalism and unwavering willingness to assist her colleagues. She consistently goes above and beyond to help colleagues, especially new Undergraduate Program Assistants, by answering questions, offering training on complex processes, and sharing practical tools such as templates and improved documentation that strengthen consistency and efficiency across teams. Known for her responsiveness, professionalism, and deep institutional knowledge, this recipient fosters a welcoming and collaborative environment where others feel supported and empowered to grow. Her generosity, patience, and thoughtful approach have made a lasting impact on colleagues across Smith Engineering and throughout all engineering programs, enhancing both individual confidence and collective success.
