Dr. Shideh Kabiri Ameri is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Queen’s University. Dr. Ameri received her PhD in Electrical Engineering in 2015 from the Tufts University, Medford, MA. She was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Research Associate in the ECE Department at the University of Texas at Austin from 2015 to 2018, prior to joining to the ECE Department at the Queens’s University in September 2018. Dr. Ameri also holds a master and bachelor degrees in Physics (solid state) and AS degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences. Her research is mainly focused on 2D material based electronic devices and their applications in wearables, bioelectronics, human machine interface (HMI), internet of things (IoTs) and mobile health care. Dr. Ameri was the recipient of the “Rising Star in EECE 2017” award and to date her research has led to more than 40 journal article publications, conference presentations and invited talks. Dr. Ameri’s research was highlighted worldwide by various media including BBC, IEEE Spectrum, Phys.Org, International Business Times UK, Graphene National Association, The Indian Express and Sohu.com (搜狐).

Currently there is an opening for a postdoctoral position in the field of semiconductor devices in the Professor Ameri's group. Candidates must have strong theoretical and experimental experiences in the design, fabrication and testing of two dimensional material based field effect transistors along with experiences in the growth and characterization of two dimensional materials such as graphene and MoS2.
