Dr. Mahmoud Alzoubi is an assistant professor in the Robert M. Buchan Department of Mining at Queen's University with an interdisciplinary background in Mining and Mechanical Engineering. Mahmoud's research focuses on advancing novel technologies that can support the development of energy-efficient mining operations; and addressing the associated technical challenges. His research addresses various engineering problems with applications in advanced energy technologies such as artificial ground freezing; mine ventilation, heating, and cooling; energy storage and extraction; and heat recovery optimization. In addition to his research experience, Mahmoud has eight years of professional experience. Prior to his current role, Mahmoud worked as a research scientist at Natural Resources Canada, where he served as a member of the Canadian Hydrogen in Mining Advisory Committee (CHIM-AC).
