Steps

Complete the online application form through Queen’s Online Admissions Portal.
($100 Payment must be made for the application to be submitted.)

  1. Application information is received and loaded into SOLUS (1-2 days after application is completed).

    Application acknowledgement email is sent out (2-6 days after application is received).

    Requests for transcripts and course descriptions are added to SOLUS To-Do list.

    Submit Transcripts
    (Final transcript must be submitted to ensure offer conditions have been met.)

  2. Applications are reviewed once all required documents have been received.

    Admission decisions are made on a weekly basis. (Offer and refusal emails are sent out each Monday for decisions made during the previous week.)

  3. Once offer of admission has been accepted, the transfer credit assessment process begins.

    Contact the BTECH team to set up Orientation.
    Register for courses in SOLUS.

Tuition and Fees

Tuition varies depending on whether you’re a domestic or international student.

Tuition Fees (per course)

Tuition Fee 3.0 units
Domestic $714.69 CAD (per 3.0 unit course)
International $2,199.42 CAD (per 3.0 unit course) * an annual UHIP fee may apply

Exam Fees

If your course has a formal proctored exam at an off-campus centre, add a $100 CAD Off-Campus Exam fee.

SOLUS – Student Online University System

SOLUS is Queen's online account system for current Queen's students. All registered students have access to SOLUS.

Through SOLUS, you can:

  • register in subsequent courses
  • check your grades
  • check for outstanding fees
  • monitor your progress toward a degree

Guidelines

Admission Requirements

Graduates of Engineering Technology programs, or Mining Engineering Technician program from college, or students who have completed a minimum of two years of study in a science program at a recognized university, and have completed their studies with a minimum 75% passing grade, are eligible to enrol in the Bachelor of Mining Engineering Technology (BTech Mining) program.

If you are unsure whether your previous educational experience will be considered for admission to the program, please contact: btech@queensu.ca with your questions. NOTE: you may be asked to provide a copy of your transcript.

The BTech (Mining) program follows the academic school year as outlined in the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science sessional dates.

Once you have received your acceptance and accepted your offer into the program please contact the Online Program Coordinator at j.cruz@queensu.ca to go over your Individual Learning Plan and enroll into courses.
