Highlights of My Contributions as ARC Chair

I am pleased that applicants can now upload their application files online, marking a significant step forward. However, progress beyond this initial phase has been slow, as, in recent years, governance issues have somewhat overshadowed Council's primary mandate.
In June 2018, with the support and valuable contributions of ARC members, I prepared the ARC's response to PEO's 2018-2020 Strategic Plan: Protect, Engage, Advance. One of the key ARC recommendations focused on enhancing the licensing process by accelerating the transition to a fully online system, supported by adequate budget resources. This transition aims to expedite the application process, improve the experience and satisfaction of applicants, and provide instant updates on application statuses, ultimately fostering better communication and transparency....
As a faculty member, I am deeply invested in the future of accreditation. I have actively followed developments in assessment methodologies and curriculum content evaluation. During my tenure as Chair of ARC, I participated in the Accreditation Forum organized by Engineers Canada (EC). I listened attentively to the perspectives of representatives from higher education institutions, accreditation boards, and regulatory bodies. Serving as a Councillor-at-Large provided me the platform to share these diverse viewpoints with Council. Currently, as a PEO Representative, I continue to contribute to the EC’s Regulator Advisory Group, ensuring that PEO remains engaged in the evolving discussions surrounding engineering education and accreditation.
