Smith Engineering at Queen’s University is pleased to host the Second Annual Competency Based Assessment (CBA) Symposium on the beautiful Queen’s campus in Kingston, Ontario.
The 2024 symposium will be a full day event focused on learning improvement. The morning session will be guided by this year’s guest speaker Dr. Keston Fulcher, followed by an interactive afternoon of examples and workshop opportunities exploring how learning improvement can be informed by competency assessment.
We welcome our francophone colleagues to the conference. Sessions will be delivered in English, with every effort being made to ensure the availability of a bilingual group facilitator for working group activities.
A full agenda can be found below. We are pleased to provide some highlights to look forward to. Participants will leave having had the opportunity to:
The Residence Inn is offering a Special Symposium Room Rate for out of town participants. Please book early as there is a limited block of rooms being made available.
In the spirit of Engineering Education Research Community events, we continue to focus on making this event not only informative, but also collegial! For those attendees arriving in town the night before the event (and locals who are interested), we are arranging for an informal dinner outing in downtown Kingston and similarly for those who wish to continue their conversations over dinner after the Event Reception. Please note that you will be choosing from the regular menu and paying directly.
